Title: U.S. Election Night Party, London
Date: 4 November 2008
Start Time: 8:00pm
End Time: 4:00am
Venue: Yates Wine Bar, Leicester Square,London
Cost: GBP 35 (includes £10 drink voucher and food all night - basically covering the minimum spend requirement for renting the bar)
Booking: Tickets can be booked here https://express.ts.co... - for legal reasons, we can't sell on the door.
How they will find me: They might not be able to, as we expect around 600 - 700 people and I am likely to be running around like a chicken with no head - but the whole bar is being rented for the party, so they won't have to!

Hi J -
Thought I'd drop you a note. My name is Cassandra. I'm an
American expat - currently working in between Europe and NYC.
I'm organising a public party in London for the U.S.
Presidential Election Night, and I'd love to invite the
American Expats in London group members. I organised one in
2004, and here's one of the articles written about it which
sums it up pretty nicely
http://www.montereyco....
At the time, I was based in London and used to be a fairly
active member of this group! Now, I fly between France and NYC
mostly, so have gone off radar. Anyway, To my knowledge this
will be the largest public event of its kind in the U.K. (as it
was in 2004).
Full disclosure - the event is officially non-partisan. I'm a
left-leaning American. My co-organiser is a right-leaning
Brit. The idea is to bring people from all across the spectrum
to engage in the process and have a great time. We expect
there will probably about a 50 / 50 split between Americans and
Brits.
So, we have a group here on meetup
http://barackobama.me.... If its something you think
the American Expat members would be interested in, we'd love to
invite them to join.
Thanks!
Cassandra
