Meeting Description

Details
Come join us this sunny Sunday for a Sunday Roast on the shores of the Thames to watch this years London Marathon. This place has a great outdoor balcony which should lend a terrific view of the procedings.
The best way to find us is ask for the "Golden Hind" historic boat, which is dry docked quite literally next door to the Old Thameside Inn. we'll be outdoors.
This one's a bit last minute, and should be a great time!

Those with an eye for detail will probably notice that there is a 16th Century Galleon on the road outside the pub. This isn't a case of bad parking; it's meant to be there. It's a full size replica of the Golden Hind, the ship in which Sir Francis Drake became the first Englishman to circumnavigate the globe. This historic task took him 3 years from 1577 to 1580, he probably could have done it quicker but he kept stopping off to nick the treasure from Spanish Galleons, which of course is time well spent and makes the delay entirely acceptable.
