London Mayor: Ken v Boris
It's still too close to call, but London may well be waking up to a new Mayor. If this is the case we might all be waking up to a new Prime Minister soon as it has been an absolute bloodbath for Labour at the polls nationally. What does everyone think? http://www.voanews.co... http://www.guardian.c... http://thescotsman.sc... Current Polls 44% Concervative 25% Labour 24% Liberal Democrat |

I really hope Boris gets into CityHall for the fact that Ken Livingstone has really not helped anybody at all. As a born Londoner I can't afford to buy a house, I am not eligable for any help buying a house because I earn too much money, but once my council tax and transport costs are paid, along with my rent I don't really have that much left anyways! It just makes me feel like I am in a catch 22 situation.
I can't imagine it is much easier for people moving to the country from America because you also get the short end of the stick. I think a change will do everybody good and the sooner the Labour stronghold over the country is gone the better! |

The Tories are going to help you get housed? ....Not too likely!
You're an optimist! I'll eat my hat if taxes actually go down! ![]() |

I can only hope Boris makes some changes that make life a bit eaiser for people who work within London, I think we do get the short end of the stick!
I will def hold you to eating you hat if any tax is reduced! (Although I won't hold my breath on that one!) At least I don't have to listen to Ken's annoying voice in press confrences anymore! |
