The London Rockets Perform Live at Walkabout Temple for American Meetup Superbowl Bash 2007!
The idea behind this site is simple: It's about developing a real world/ real life community, not a virtual one. There is a blog space/ message board on the site, but its more about the meet and greet face to face. Hence we have regular get togethers in Central London about every fortnight. It's like a number 38 bus~ there is always another meet up if you missed the last one.
Plus its a great way to explore this great city; We always have our meet ups in different locations all over London. (I'm sure if you wait around long enough one will come along to your neighborhood soon enough!)
This site is directed towards the North American community in London (about 25~ 30% of members are Canadian [or is that aboot
] ) but anyone and everyone is welcome. Loads of people on the site are from everywhere on the globe.
usually about 60 people turn up at every event. If you are a first timer attending an event, don't be nervous you won't be the only one; there are always new people to meet and friendly familiar faces.
American Meetup is whatever you make of it because all that it is [at the end of the day....] is a social space to meet others, you yourselves are the expat American community.
